KIPPERS, BUCKLING, RED HERRINGS AND

BLOATERS

 

Manx kippers                                                        

The finest kippers.  So well cured that if you fry or grill them well, and pull the

main bone out, the other small bones represent no problem.  Manx kippers will

change your mind about kipper eating.  Give your guests these for breakfast,

and they’ll be back soon.  Or why not try small pieces on toast as an appetizer?

 

Boned kippers                                  

Our boned kippers are of the finest quality, all fresh.

 

Kippers                                                                        

These are large and succulent.  Perfect for breakfast!

 

 Buckling

A herring smoked until it's cooked, weighing about 170g.  Very boney, so maybe advise your customers to pull apart and eat with their fingers.  A lovely flavour.

 

Bloaters                                                                            

Small whole herrings that need to be cooked.

 

Red herrings                               

Smoked for a week from fish that have been salted for a month.  Eat them as they

are, or soak them for 24 hours, then fillet them, fry them and eat with tomatoes. 

Yes, red herrings are a real fish!
